Constraints on anomalous Higgs boson couplings to vector bosons and fermions in its production and decay using the four-lepton final state

Studies of CP violation and anomalous couplings of the Higgs boson to vector bosons and fermions are presented. The data were acquired by the CMS experiment at the LHC and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb-1 at a proton-proton collision energy of 13 TeV. The kinematic effects in the Higgs boson's four-lepton decay H→4ℓ and its production in association with two jets, a vector boson, or top quarks are analyzed, using a full detector simulation and matrix element techniques to identify the production mechanisms and to increase sensitivity to the tensor structure of the Higgs boson interactions. A simultaneous measurement is performed of up to five Higgs boson couplings to electroweak vector bosons (HVV), two couplings to gluons (Hgg), and two couplings to top quarks (Htt). The CP measurement in the Htt interaction is combined with the recent measurement in the H→γγ channel. The results are presented in the framework of anomalous couplings and are also interpreted in the framework of effective field theory, including the first study of CP properties of the Htt and effective Hgg couplings from a simultaneous analysis of the gluon fusion and top-associated processes. The results are consistent with the standard model of particle physics.

EMPIRICAL INVESTIGATION OF LONG RUN PPP HYPOTHESIS: THE CASE OF TEMPORARY STRUCTURAL BREAK AND ASYMMETRIC ADJUSTMENT

This study investigates the validity of the long-run PPP hypothesis for 60 economies using trade-weighted REER indices for the period 1994:01-2020:04. In addition to conventional tests, we also apply a battery of new unit root tests that allow for structural breaks and nonlinear adjustment. Our results suggest that test procedures that allow for both a structural break in the deterministic components of the series and nonlinearities in the adjustment towards equilibrium lead to a more frequent rejection of the unit root null hypothesis. In particular, after allowing for a temporary structural break in the series along with nonlinear adjustment towards the gradually changing equilibrium, we were able to reject the null hypothesis of unit root for all countries, thus providing some support for the PPP hypothesis.

By using frustration-preserving hard-spin mean-field theory, we investigated the phase-transition dynamics in the three-dimensional field-free ± J Ising spin-glass model. As the temperature T is decreased from paramagnetic phase at high temperatures, with a rate ω=-dT/dt in time t, the critical temperature depends on the cooling rate through a clear power law ωa. With increasing antiferromagnetic bond fraction p, the exponent a increases for the transition into the ferromagnetic case for p[removed]pc, signaling the ferromagnetic - spin-glass phase transition at pc≈0.22. The relaxation time is also investigated in the adiabatic case ω=0 and the dynamic exponent zν is found to increase with increasing p.
