<title>International Symposium on Energy Management and Sustainability ISEMAS-25 Proceeding Book</title>
<link>https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12960/1788</link>
<description>International Symposium on Energy Management and Sustainability ISEMAS-25 Proceeding Book
Söğüt, Mehmet Ziya
As an effect of global climate change, energy and environmental problems have become a problem that triggers social sustainability and produces vital problems day by day. While the models developed in these processes, which are handled on a global scale, trigger a new perspective, the new frameworks put forward by comfort and sustainability affect the studies in this context. Today, while the effect of global warming is increasing as a measure of fossil-based pollution, the negativities caused by environmental problems trigger new problem areas such as thirst or drought, while the economic problems arising from the effect of change have also paved the way for climate migration. Fossil fuels, which have been the key to development and growth since the industrial revolution, have been replaced by alternative sources today, and these processes have increased the development of new resource management and technologies. As a matter of fact, while greenhouse gases caused by fossil fuel consumption such as coal, oil and natural gas show that they will continue in all scenarios in the near and medium term, carbon-free fuels and technologies that will replace them will create a different ecosystem with a new perspective. Energy and environmental sustainability has a comprehensive and predictable framework that includes many disciplines. As a matter of fact, the developments in these processes, which are generally considered as sustainability parameters, directly affect the environment, society, ecosystems and people. The International Symposium on Energy Management and Sustainability (ISEMAS) is a very important platform that opens new horizons for all researchers in the name of sustainability and supports scientific sharing on green transformation, reducing carbon emissions and clean energy solutions. In this context, ISEMAS 2025 brought together leading academics, researchers, engineers, and industry professionals from around the world in the fields of energy, environment, and sustainability, enabling the presentation of impactful scientific studies. ISEMAS 2025 was successfully held as an online event organized by Piri Reis University, the Sustainable Development Association, and ASHRAE Turkish Chapter between 27-29 August 2025 and hosted by Piri Reis University. With the special and scientific sessions held at this event, innovative solutions and ideas to increase the sustainability of buildings and systems in many disciplines, especially energy and environment, were shared, and a multinational scientific environment was created. In the seminar, a wide range of topics were discussed with the main themes such as energy technologies and management, renewable energy technologies, smart cities, green buildings, energy efficiency and zero emissions, and effective sharing was developed with important Keynote and Invited Speakers in their fields of science around the world. In addition, nearly 70 papers were presented and information was shared in 13 different scientific sessions. ISEMAS 2025 has been an important step in terms of sectoral transformation, prioritizing green technologies and disseminating environmentally friendly approaches, beyond just sharing academic knowledge. ISEMAS 2025, followed by more than 400 participants on the online platform, brought together a number of important topics from energy production to industrial processes and life cycle analysis. ISEMAS 2025 also provided an environment for the presentation of new perspectives on the environment and energy sustainability, especially energy management and technologies. In this context, ISEMAS 2025 has also introduced a framework to users to be an important guide on the energy solutions of the future. I would like to thank Piri Reis University Rector Prof. Dr. Nafiz Arıca for their contributions to the realization of ISEMAS 2025, all speakers, academics, supporters and the organizing committee, and I would like to reiterate my belief that this symposium will further strengthen knowledge and cooperation networks in the field of energy and environmental sustainability..

<title>Piri Reis Üniversitesi Genç Deniz Hukukçularının Gözünden Uluslararası Deniz Hukuku Kararları</title>
<link>https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12960/1786</link>
<description>Piri Reis Üniversitesi Genç Deniz Hukukçularının Gözünden Uluslararası Deniz Hukuku Kararları
Keskin, Sevda; Kuş, Şeyma; Saray Çelikkol, Nil İrem
Uluslararası hukuk, devletler arası ilişkilerin barışçıl yollarla düzenlenmesinde &#13;
temel bir rol oynamaktadır. Bu sistemin işlerliğini sağlayan en önemli araçlardan biri &#13;
ise uluslararası yargı mercileri tarafından verilen kararlardır. Uluslararası Adalet &#13;
Divanı (UAD) ve Birleşmiş Milletler Deniz Hukuku Mahkemesi (BMDHM) gibi yargı &#13;
organlarının verdiği kararlar, sadece uyuşmazlıkların çözümünde değil, aynı zamanda &#13;
uluslararası hukukun gelişiminde ve devlet uygulamalarının şekillenmesinde de &#13;
belirleyici olmaktadır. Bu kararlar, hukuki ilkelerin nasıl yorumlandığını ve &#13;
uygulandığını göstermesi bakımından hem akademik çalışma yapanlar hem de &#13;
uygulayıcılar için yol gösterici niteliktedir. &#13;
Uluslararası deniz hukuku, devletlerin deniz yetki alanlarını belirleme, &#13;
denizlerin barışçıl kullanımı ve deniz çevresinin korunması gibi pek çok konuda &#13;
düzenlemeler içeren dinamik bir alandır. Uluslararası Mahkemeler tarafından verilen &#13;
kararlar, deniz yetki alanlarının sınırlandırılması, deniz çevresinin korunması, &#13;
gemilere müdahale, kuvvet kullanımı gibi önemli konularda uluslararası hukukun &#13;
temel ilkelerini somutlaştırmaktadır. Bu kararların sistematik biçimde incelenmesi ve &#13;
daha geniş kitleler tarafından anlaşılır hale getirilmesi hem hukuk eğitiminin niteliğini &#13;
artırmakta hem de uygulayıcıların elini güçlendirmektedir. &#13;
Türkiye’nin üç tarafı denizlerle çevrili bir ülke olarak uluslararası deniz &#13;
hukukunun gelişmelerini yakından takip etmesi ve bu alandaki yargı kararlarına hâkim &#13;
olması büyük önem taşımaktadır. Kararların içerdiği hukuki tespitlerin ve yorumların &#13;
bilinmesi, Türkiye’nin kendi deniz yetki alanlarına ilişkin görüşlerini daha güçlü bir &#13;
zemine oturtmasına katkı sunacaktır. Bu bağlamda, UAD ve BMDHM kararlarının &#13;
Türkçe literatürde daha görünür hale getirilmesi hem diplomatik hem de hukuk &#13;
alanında stratejik bir gereklilik olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. &#13;
Bu çalışma, 123K801 numaralı “Uluslararası Deniz Hukukuna İlişkin Yargı &#13;
Kararlarına Hâkim Temel İlkelerin Türk Deniz Hukukuna Etkisi” başlıklı TÜBİTAK &#13;
projemiz kapsamında lisans, yüksek lisans ve doktora düzeyindeki genç hukukçuların &#13;
uluslararası yargı kararlarına ilişkin analizlerini bir araya getirerek hem akademik &#13;
üretimi teşvik etmekte hem de kararların farklı bakış açılarıyla yorumlanmasına imkân sunmaktadır. Genç araştırmacıların bu tür çalışmalara yönelmesi, Türkiye’nin bu &#13;
alandaki bilimsel kapasitesinin artmasına katkı sağlayacak ve uzun vadede deniz &#13;
hukuku alanında uzman hukukçuların yetişmesine zemin hazırlayacaktır. Bu &#13;
çalışmanın okuyucular için faydalı olmasını, özellikle de genç hukukçuların &#13;
uluslararası deniz hukuku alanındaki çalışmalarını teşvik etmesini temenni ederiz.

Today, energy and environmental issues that directly trigger and impact climate change increase the&#13;
need for strategic models that will enhance societal sustainability day by day. Global warming, which&#13;
occurs as a result of pollution caused by human-induced and fossil fuel consumption, increases the&#13;
Earth's average surface temperature, and its impact continues to adversely affect life forms day by day.&#13;
Since the industrial revolution, while greenhouse gas emissions, mostly released by burning fossil fuels&#13;
such as coal, oil and natural gas continue to pollute the world, clean fuels such as hydrogen that will&#13;
reshape a carbon-free future and their system solutions are increasing their effectiveness day by day.&#13;
Energy and environmental sustainability are multidisciplinary and comprehensive in terms of&#13;
frameworks and impacts. Today's emerging green call and decarbonization issues include basic focuses&#13;
such as the environment, people, society and ecosystem. The 14th International Exergy, Energy, and&#13;
Environment Symposium (IEEES-14), organized and conducted within this framework, took place in&#13;
Istanbul, Turkey, from December 24 to 27, 2023. The event was organized and collaborated on by Piri&#13;

successful symposium, opening new perspectives that support energy and environmental&#13;
sustainability with the insights it presented on academic and social platforms. I extend my heartfelt&#13;
gratitude to the strong support provided by Piri Reis University Rectorate and its Rector Prof. Dr. Nafiz&#13;
Arıca, the Organizing Institutions, Supporting Organizations, the Organization Committee, and the&#13;
members of the organizing board, as well as the Founding Chair Prof. Dr. İbrahim Dinçer, for making&#13;
this event possible. I sincerely thank our sponsors for their assistance, support, and collaboration.&#13;
Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all participants whose contributions and&#13;
support have led to the great success of the symposium.

<title>Gemi Türleri - Ticari Gemilerin Karakteristik Özellikleri</title>

<description>Gemi Türleri - Ticari Gemilerin Karakteristik Özellikleri
Taşdemir, Ahmet; Nohut, Serkan; Akman, Mehmet
2021 verilerine göre uluslararası ticaretin yüzde 86’sı suyolları kullanılarak yapılmak tadır. Uluslararası ticarette gemiler ile taşınan yük türleri, dondurulmuş veya taze gıda &#13;
ürünlerinden, petrol ve petrol ürünleri ve her türlü sanayi ürünlerine kadar geniş bir &#13;
yelpazeyi kapsamaktadır. Bundan dolayı, hemen hemen her sanayi kolunun denizcilik &#13;
sektörüne doğrudan ya da dolaylı bir bağımlılığı söz konusudur. Yaşanan ekonomik &#13;
gelişmelere bağlı olarak bu oranda dönemsel küçük değişiklikler olsa da denizlere ve &#13;
ticaret yollarına hâkim olma isteği, insanlık tarihi boyunca dünya siyasetinde ve eko nomisinde söz sahibi olma yarışında büyük bir rol oynamıştır. Zira tarihte ülkelerin &#13;
gerçek anlamda güçlü olması ve hükümdarlıklarını sürdürebilmeleri ancak kendi böl gesini çevreleyen deniz ve iç suyollarına hâkimiyet kurmasıyla mümkün olmuştur. &#13;
Dolayısıyla gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkeler hem ticari hem de askeri filolarının &#13;
güçlendirilmesine son derece önem vermektedir
