Söğüt, M. Z. (Ed.). (2025). International Symposium on Energy Management and Sustainability ISEMAS-25 Proceeding Book. Piri Reis University.Özet
As an effect of global climate change, energy and environmental problems have become a problem that triggers social sustainability and produces vital problems day by day. While the models developed in these processes, which are handled on a global scale, trigger a new perspective, the new frameworks put forward by comfort and sustainability affect the studies in this context. Today, while the effect of global warming is increasing as a measure of fossil-based pollution, the negativities caused by environmental problems trigger new problem areas such as thirst or drought, while the economic problems arising from the effect of change have also paved the way for climate migration. Fossil fuels, which have been the key to development and growth since the industrial revolution, have been replaced by alternative sources today, and these processes have increased the development of new resource management and technologies. As a matter of fact, while greenhouse gases caused by fossil fuel consumption such as coal, oil and natural gas show that they will continue in all scenarios in the near and medium term, carbon-free fuels and technologies that will replace them will create a different ecosystem with a new perspective. Energy and environmental sustainability has a comprehensive and predictable framework that includes many disciplines. As a matter of fact, the developments in these processes, which are generally considered as sustainability parameters, directly affect the environment, society, ecosystems and people. The International Symposium on Energy Management and Sustainability (ISEMAS) is a very important platform that opens new horizons for all researchers in the name of sustainability and supports scientific sharing on green transformation, reducing carbon emissions and clean energy solutions. In this context, ISEMAS 2025 brought together leading academics, researchers, engineers, and industry professionals from around the world in the fields of energy, environment, and sustainability, enabling the presentation of impactful scientific studies. ISEMAS 2025 was successfully held as an online event organized by Piri Reis University, the Sustainable Development Association, and ASHRAE Turkish Chapter between 27-29 August 2025 and hosted by Piri Reis University. With the special and scientific sessions held at this event, innovative solutions and ideas to increase the sustainability of buildings and systems in many disciplines, especially energy and environment, were shared, and a multinational scientific environment was created. In the seminar, a wide range of topics were discussed with the main themes such as energy technologies and management, renewable energy technologies, smart cities, green buildings, energy efficiency and zero emissions, and effective sharing was developed with important Keynote and Invited Speakers in their fields of science around the world. In addition, nearly 70 papers were presented and information was shared in 13 different scientific sessions. ISEMAS 2025 has been an important step in terms of sectoral transformation, prioritizing green technologies and disseminating environmentally friendly approaches, beyond just sharing academic knowledge. ISEMAS 2025, followed by more than 400 participants on the online platform, brought together a number of important topics from energy production to industrial processes and life cycle analysis. ISEMAS 2025 also provided an environment for the presentation of new perspectives on the environment and energy sustainability, especially energy management and technologies. In this context, ISEMAS 2025 has also introduced a framework to users to be an important guide on the energy solutions of the future. I would like to thank Piri Reis University Rector Prof. Dr. Nafiz Arıca for their contributions to the realization of ISEMAS 2025, all speakers, academics, supporters and the organizing committee, and I would like to reiterate my belief that this symposium will further strengthen knowledge and cooperation networks in the field of energy and environmental sustainability..
